About PLZ Forum for Ecozoic Era

The DEEPEN conference is part of an annual series called PLZ Forum for Ecozoic Era 
(Ecozoic Era: The era of the community of living beings).

PLZ (Peace & Life Zone) Festival has been hosting International Conferences to promote Ecozoic Era and discuss living with nature in peace. People for Earth has been the organizer for this forum series. 

The title of PLZ Forum past year in 2019 was called “The Rights of Nature and Ecological Transformation”.

Its objective was the following:

○ Promoting Gangwon-do and DMZ, located in the border region of North and South Korea, as an ecological peace zone and a place for ecological education based on the view of the Rights of Nature
Networking through exchanges with ‘Earth Jurisprudence’ experts from Korea and abroad
○ Seeking ‘Earth Governance’ to conserve Earth’s common resources
○ Sharing the current issues caused by climate crisis and finding cooperative and practical measures for future generations

The effort to discuss peace, environment and development continues this year with the DEEPEN conference in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province.
